The “MMO of the Year”, along with main sponsor GameGenetics, leading distributor of free-to-play online games, today revealed the 2013 nominees. The prize is among the most prestigious and influential in the booming genre. The complete list of nominees can be found at http://www.mmooftheyear.com/categories.

The “MMO of the Year” awards the best massively multiplayer online games. That means online games with thousands of simultaneous players in a single game world, some of them being played by millions of people.

“The nominees represent the best in massively multiplayer games. I’m looking forward to January 15th 2013, when voting finally starts.” said Christian Justus, producer of the award. “Being organized for the 8th time this year, ‘MMO of the Year’ is expected to attract millions of visitors from all over the world and tens of thousands of participants in the people’s choice voting, underlining its position as one of the most important honors for online games.“

Berlin-based game marketing company GameGenetics is presenting the award. “Quality and popularity of MMOs made a big leap in in 2012. MMOs are hotter than ever and are conquering international markets. As the leading distributor and marketer of free-to-play games, GameGenetics is proud to support the ‘MMO of the Year’”, commented Alexander Piutti, CEO and Founder GameGenetics.

For the first time in history the “MMO of the Year” will make its way to Latin America. Players in emerging online game markets such as Brazil and Chile will be provided with Portuguese and Spanish versions of the website, thanks to a cooperation with BoaCompra. "We're extremely excited to help this awesome project spread across the globe and give it a push in our key markets. We always were and will be focused on bringing the best online games in the world to the Latin players", Julian Migura, Director Global Business Development, UOL.

The award features a total of 20+ individual categories across Browser, Download and Mobile platforms. The “MMO of the Year” is supported by GameGenetics, GameFinder, honeytracks, InnoGames, upjers, Games-Career.com and many more.

Suggestions for late nominations can be submitted via email until voting starts on January 15th, 2013.
